Anise hyssop

Anise Hyssop is a native perennial that keeps you in fragrant pollinator heaven from mid-summer to fall. With a sweet licorice-mint fragrance, long lasting pale purple flowers, and an easy-to-grow nature, this is a pollinator powerhouse favored by bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Its leaves make a delicious tea too! Deer and rabbit resistant.

Basil - Dwarf Greek (Boxwood)

Dwarf basil variety is a must-have for popular Italian and Green dishes. Perfect for your container garden or your kitchen counter. Popular and easy to grow annual that develops into an attractive bushy plant. Aromatic leaves are popular in tomato dishes, soups, stews, spaghetti, fish, poultry, and salads. Not only is it in some of your favorite recipes, but its strong scent can also aid as a pest deterrent.

Basil-Italian

One of the most popular herbs used for cooking, Sweet Basil bears large, 2-in., dark green leaves that are packed with flavor and a sweet, spicy fragrance. Sweet Basil prefers warm weather and is grown as an annual in most parts of the country. Single leaves can be cut just about any time. If cutting whole stems, make the cut above a pair of leaves. This helps new growth continue and preserves the plant for future use. Sweet Basil can be grown in the herb garden or patio pots.

Basil - Lemon 

Vigorous and fast-growing, large-leafed Sweet Dani adds more flavor in culinary usage, thanks to up to 75% more total essential oils than standard lemon basil varieties. An added bonus is the white-flowered spikes. Leaves or flowers can be sprinkled in salads, used to brew tea, or added to recipes that call for lemon or basil.

Basil - Lettuce Leaf

Basil lovers, this is for you—an extremely productive sweet basil boasting leaves nearly as big as your hand! The light green leaves are more sweet than spicy and full of flavor and aroma; ideal as lettuce alternative in wraps, on burgers or sandwiches, or in a beautiful caprese salad. Crinkled leaves hold dressings or marinades better than smooth types in your culinary creations. Very slow to bolt.

Basil - Lime


This basil combination is perfect for anyone looking to use their garden for cooking or making fun cocktails!

Lime basil is a bright, tart, citrusy herb that adds a deep and slightly sweet flavor to whatever you’re cooking (or drinking). 

Thai basil has a spiced, almost-anise-like flavor that’s much more savory than Genovese basil. It also grows leaves that are smaller, thinner, and firmer, meaning they’re sturdy enough to use in stir-fries and spicy curries.

Red Rubin Basil is a captivating herb with dark, burgundy- purple leaves. It’s an aromatic and flavorful variety, often used in culinary dishes and as an ornamental plant. Its vibrant color and sweet, slightly spicy taste make it a standout choice for gardens and dishes, adding a pop of flavor and visual appeal.

Basil - Thai

Look no further if you're seeking a new herb with some spice to add to your cooking! Our Organic Thai Basil Seeds have a slightly spicy, licorice flavor, and their leaves hold up well in the kitchen, their flavor absorbs quickly into meals, and the leaves don't wilt as much as Italian sweet basil leaves. They feature a purple stem and tiny, strong leaves with serrated edges. Thai basil grows well in pots or directly in the garden!

Borage

Borage also benefits gardens by attracting beneficial insects for natural pest control of common garden pests. Additionally, borage releases calcium and potassium into the soil, which can help other plants like squash and tomatoes to combat diseases such as blossom rot. Interplant borage with tomatoes. 

Borage reaches about 2 feet high, with 1½-inch star-shaped blooms. Full sun to part shade.

Cat Grass

Do you want to keep your cats from eating potentially harmful houseplants, or coarse, outdoor grass that sticks to the back of their tongues and might contain pesticides? Because it's grown indoors, fibrous cat grass can be served fresh, year-round to assist your cat with digestion, and may help prevent furballs. 


Catnip

Catnip is a multi-purpose plant. The tea is very pleasant with a lemon-mint flavor and fragrance. Along with fresh catnip planted in containers indoors year-round, catnip toys filled with dried leaves will provide your feline friends with hours of fun. Catnip is very hardy and grows in almost any soil; self-sows readily.

Chamomile, German

What could be more soothing than curling up at bedtime with a good book and a cup of chamomile tea made from flowers fresh from your garden? The flowers can also be dried for floral arrangements, pressed for crafts, or woven into charming wreaths, and their edible petals can be tossed into salads. In the garden, chamomile attracts beneficial insects and pollinators.

Chervil

Chervil is an intriguing herb. Many do not appreciate its unique scent and taste, but every herbalist and foodie should grow it at least once. Try chervil this year—you’ll be charmed by its dainty appearance and delicate flavor. Because chervil bolts quickly, many grow it for cut bouquets. Chervil has delicate, white flowers. It will self-seed

Chives

Chive plants are the easiest herb to grow. This herb might be the easiest plant to grow! Use them in salads, soups (they are great in tomato or potato soups are great!), in tuna fish, baked potatoes with sour cream, cream cheese (on bagels), Mexican dishes, and wherever you would use onions.

Chives - garlic

 Unlike onions or other types of garlic, however, the fibrous bulb is not edible but is grown rather for its flowers and stems. It is easy to differentiate between onion chives and garlic chives. Garlic chives have a flat, grass-like leaf, not a hollow one as do onion chives.   Flowers make a great addition to bouquets. The budded flower stalks are sold as "gow choy" in Chinese grocery stores.

Cilantro - slow bolt

The delicious fresh flavor of cilantro leaf is essential in salsa and most Mexican dishes or in Asian cooking. Our Slow-Bolt Cilantro holds in leaf better than other varieties, but plan sowing seed every 4 weeks for a constant fresh supply, as plants flower and make seed quickly and the leaves don’t dry well.

Dill

Bouquet Dill produces tall stems loaded with large, chartreuse umbel-like flowers. Its fragrant foliage and easy-to-grow nature make it an ideal addition to any garden. Use its edible leaves and flowers for canning, in salads or as a seasoning, or simply enjoy its beauty in your floral arrangements  It will self-seed.

Fennel - Finnochio

The base of the plant consists of the tender, succulent leaf stems, which grow together so tightly that they form a bulb. Sliver it raw onto salads or add it to root roasts.  It’s great in soups. Also attracts Parsleyworms, the striking caterpillars that eventually turn into swallowtail butterflies.

Fennel - Bronze


Bronze Fennel, has dark, smoky foliage to a height of 6', an attractive backdrop in perennial borders, where it adds a soft, airy, somewhat mysterious look. The large umbels of nectar-filled, yellow flowers are attractive to many butterflies and pollinators and will eventually dry and create a bountiful harvest of fennel seeds. A prized host plant for the Eastern Black Swallowtail butterfly and caterpillar.

Fenugreek

 The green parts of the plant are mildly bitter and typically cooked as a vegetable, or dried and used in many versions of spice mixes. The seeds, roasted or raw, are ground and used as a condiment. Being a legume, fenugreek enriches the soil with nitrogen.  The leaves look similar to clover leaves and the flowers resemble those of common peas. The aromatic yellowish brown seeds develop in curved yellow pods.

Both the seeds and the leaves are edible.

Lavender - Phenomenal

Tolerates the extremes of both cold and heat without dying back, is resistant to common root and foliar diseases, and grows superbly in production and landscapes. This is a very large, hedging lavender that can be used to create a border around the garden and also can be grown as a cut and dried flower for potpourri and culinary uses. It forms a very uniform, dense mound of silvery green foliage topped with tall wands of rich lavender purple flowers

Lemongrass

The famous, tropical lemon-flavored herb of Thai cuisine. It has long, slender, pale green stems that are thick and fleshy. This perennial must be grown in warm weather or inside to keep from freezing.  Add to soups, curries and stir-fries. Enjoy cooking with it often.  Also a medicinal herb.

Marjoram

 This herb is shockingly easy to grow and should be a staple in any garden. It makes a great companion plant, and adds some serious flavor to a variety of dishes. Marjoram is a a perennial herb that has a profound piney, citrusy flavor

Lovage

Not widely known, and certainly not widely seen in markets, lovage is the best-kept secret of the herb world. Its celery-like celery is hard to describe but impossible to forget. It is used fresh or dried: just a few leaves, finely chopped, is all it takes to lend a rich, delightful essence to any dish. It's also a beautiful perennial plant in a lovely pale green shade with a graceful arching habit.  

4-6' tall, full sun.

Mint - Peppermint

Peppermint is easy to grow. The mature plant is easy to identify by its dark green to purplish leaves with square stems and oblong purplish leaves with pointed tips.  The peppermint herb plant has small pink, white, or purple flowers at the end of each stem from July to September. It is wonderfully fragrant and provides a cool, fresh scent that is so familiar in the summertime. Best to grow in a container, as it can se a bit aggressive in the garden.

Mint - Spearmint

Almost everyone enjoys the delicious flavor of mint - it is wonderful in everything from iced drinks, to sauces, to lamb dishes. The flavor is best when the leaves are cut just before the blossoms open. You will want to keep this fast-spreading plant in a container so that it does not take over your garden. Slender spikes of pink or white flowers appear in the summer.

Mint - Lemon Balm

 Easy to grow, it has many culinary uses and a history of medicinal uses as well! Pollinators, especially bees, love the small white flowers that appear in late summer. Extracts from lemon balm are popular ingredients in natural pest repellents. Grow in a large pot o n your patio to have a pest-repelling plant that doubles as a delicious tea.

Mint - Orange

The round shaped leaves are smooth surfaced and often tinted purple and red mounted on a dark red stem. As the weather cools the leaves will turn even more purple, growing full and bush-like. Like all mints it can thrive in almost any soil. Plant will spread by sending out runners, so grow in a container to keep it in check. Great for use in cooking and teas. Light and full of flavor, this mint is not as intense as other mints. This is our favorite dessert mint, use in teas especially combined with other herbs.

Mint-Chocolate

Bright sweet refreshing peppermint-patty flavor is a must-have for any winter dried-herb supply. Freshen your breath, settle your stomach, brighten up fruit desserts, garnish ice cream, flavor your favorite meat dish, or scent soaps and salves. Add to hot cocoa for a special treat. Grow in a container to keep it from spreading too far in the garden.

Oregano - Italian

 Mainly grown as a culinary herb in herb and vegetable gardens, but it can be planted in rock gardens, along a border, and hanging baskets. Oregano tolerates drought and poor soil. Wonderfully aromatic, Oregano is one of the most important herbs of Italian, Greek and Mexican cooking, and its flavor is strong enough to stand up to bold flavors like tomatoes, onion, garlic and beef. The Oregano leaves can be clipped throughout the growing season and used fresh or dried
